Trelltech

Back

TrellTech started as a team project, built in five days for my Epitech certification. A tight deadline that left no room to hesitate. I served as team lead while developing actively throughout, splitting up the work and making architecture calls quickly never meant stepping outside the code. Originally, the project covered what you'd expect from a real mobile Trello client: full management of workspaces, boards, kanban card views, members, comments, due dates, with authentication delegated entirely to Trello through OAuth, no custom backend, Trello remains the sole source of truth through its REST API.

Months later, wanting my own project management tool pushed me to pick TrellTech back up, solo, and add what has since become the part I'm proudest of: the Automation Studio. The idea is simple to describe, not to build: give it a project or feature's scope, generated beforehand by an AI from a prompt, and the app builds the entire backlog on its own. It finds or creates the organization, the board, the lists, the labels with color matching, then every card with its description, acceptance criteria, assignment by username, and checklists computed by diffing so nothing ever gets duplicated if the tool runs again on a plan that's already partly processed.

Automating bulk creation quickly runs into a real problem: Trello's API enforces strict rate limits, and firing off dozens of creations in a row blows through them in seconds. I had to build a rate-limiting system with automatic retries and exponential backoff, so the sync keeps moving without ever getting blocked, with a live execution log and the ability to cancel mid-run.

Today, the Automation Studio isn't just an add-on to the Epitech project, it's a tool I actually use on my own projects: I give it a feature's scope, and within minutes my entire backlog is ready in Trello, instead of losing an hour creating cards one by one.

Technically, TrellTech runs on React Native and Expo, with a clean layered architecture between screens, components, and services, and an automated test suite covering the project's critical flows.
